  • Teen Fashion Contest Runway Show

Date: 2011.07.07 | Category: Events, TIC, Teen Fashion Contest | Response: 0

The Philip S. Miller Library Teen Fashion Contest Runway Show is almost here.  On July 30th at 5:30 the designers and models will take to the runway to show off their designs.  After the models walk the runway, the designers will have to discuss their designs and our judges will offer critiques.  Then it’s up to the audience to vote for the winners.  Prizes will go to the top 3 designers.

The Douglas Elbert Task Force is sponsoring this event.  They donated many of the dresses that the girls used to make their new designs.  We will be having a food drive called Fashionistas for Food.  Friends, family, and everyone else in the audience will be asked to donate non-perishable food items to the designer of their choice.  The three designers with the most food donations will win a gift basket put together by the task force and local Castle Rock businesses.

Bring your non-perishable food to the show and I will see you on the runway.

(Registration is not required to attend the Runway Show)

The 2011 Philip S. Miller Teen Short Film Contest Red Carpet Event was a big success thanks to all of our filmmakers, their families, our amazing sponsors, and everyone who attended.  We had 113 people in the audience eating fantastic sandwiches donated by Sprouts.  The short films were funny, scary, exciting, and entertaining.  It was difficult to choose the winners, because there where so many excellent entries.  The crowd voted and while volunteers and staff tallied the ballots, the audience got to see a preview of the new Transformers movie, “Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon”.  They also watched a trailer by a local film maker and got some information about the upcoming Castle Rock Film Festival. Finally the ballots were totaled and the winners were announced.  Congratulations to all of our filmmakers; you are all talented and your work was excellent!
