“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” – Anne of Green Gables
The leaves have changed and the weather is getting cooler. October is a great month filled with fun fall festivals across Douglas County. Here is a quick roundup of great events to enjoy the season:
Stockton’s Plum Creek Stables
This is a 30-minute spine-tingling family adventure, put on by the Cowboy 4-H Club. Professional storytellers narrate an amusing tale while you rumble down a spooky trail inhabited by Indians and six-gun-carrying cowboys.
Recreation Center at Eastridge
Children ages 12 and under are invited to put on costumes, grab their trick-or-treat bags and join the fun at Trick-or-Treat Street! Local businesses provide treats for all the “little ghosts and goblins!”
Trick or Treat Street
Downtown Castle Rock
Enjoy trick-or-treating throughout downtown businesses. There will be pony rides, bouncy houses, a costume contest, face painting and more!
Family Fall Fest Presented by Teen Library Council (library event)
Douglas County Libraries in Parker
Teen Library Council presents Family Fall Fest! An autumnal tradition at the library, we combine tasty treats, enchanted Storytimes, Boo-tacular games and spooky crafts so that everyone in your family has a great time together! Halloween costumes are encouraged though not required — come enjoy a fun evening together. Registration is not required.
Trick-or-Treat on Mainstreet
Bring all your little ghouls, ghosts, goblins, princesses, superheroes and anyone else celebrating Halloween to downtown Parker for this annual tradition. Many local businesses will line the street, providing a fun and safe place for kids of all ages to trick-or-treat.
