DIY @ DCL in January

It’s January. Don’t buy expensive handmade birthday gifts, or shell out money to get a professional manicure. This is a new year, and we want to help craft a new you!

Douglas County Libraries (DCL) is here for you, because this year we’re helping you do it yourself (DIY) with empowering programs designed for DIY. Here are some of the things you can learn.

DIY @ DCL: A Festival
Friday, January 20: 3-5PM
Saturday, January 21: 9AM-5PM
Sunday, January 22: 12-5PM
No registration required

This weekend festival helps you step out of your comfort zone and learn how to do all kinds of new things, like making a t-shirt scarf or paneer cheese, learning how to apply stage makeup, and crafting paper art.

DIY @ DCL Sundays
Sunday, January 8, 1-3PM: DIY Paper Crafts
Sunday, January 15, 1-3PM: DIY Gifts
Sunday, January 22, 1-3PM: DIY Fiber Arts
No registration required

These simple projects don’t require any previous experience, and they’re guaranteed to be Pinterest-worthy. The program is great for families! Some of the items we’ll craft include:

  • Paper pompoms
  • Snowflakes
  • Family coasters (please bring your family photos!)
  • Owl earbud case
  • Sugar scrub



DIY @ DCL: How-To Fest
Saturday, January 21: 11AM-3PM
No registration required

This DIY event is great for all ages. Participate in demonstrations, talks, and hands-on activities, from arts and crafts to cooking, and more!
